With the guidance of our campus creative learning instructor Ms. Fisher we read the Great Kapok Tree and then had a town hall meeting using characters from the book. All of the students on the carpet represented the animals who wanted to save the rainforest and the students in the chairs represented the wood choppers who wanted to chop down the rainforest.  After a heated but silly debate. The rainforest animals and wood choppers came to an agreement of the wood choppers could take down 5 trees of their choice and would then build houses out of bricks instead of wood. We all agreed it was a fair compromise.
